Funny enough, turns out that as I was writing my post on Monday, Allyse and Patrick were having their baby! After a long, rough night, Jackson Nicholas came into the world on September 27th just after noon. Welcome to the world little guy! I was able to visit with him and the happy new parents that night gifts in hand, clothes for little Jackson including a Halloween onesie that says 'I love my Mummy!', and cookies for mom of course!

As the first entry of my blog, I'll share the story of how I came to start my own custom cookie favor business. Last year my best friend Allyse was getting married. I, as a bridesmaid, was of course involved in the planning and a soundboard for Allyse to bounce her ideas off. One idea she came across was a monogrammed cookie. I saw the picture and thought, "Well I can make those!" I decided on shortbread to make them a little more original than regular sugar cookies (and because I LOVE shortbread!) and we choose a simple flower shape for the bridal shower favors. The finished cookies had A's on half for Allyse, and P's on the other half for Patrick, her fiance, and all of the cookies were backed with chocolate. Delicious! Individually packaged and tied with ribbon, each place setting included a cookie. At the shower, a few people asked where we got the cookies, and that's when the idea hit. Now here I am a year later, running my own cookie business! Also happy to say that Allyse and Patrick are expecting their first baby this week!
