I am a HUGE nerd.....

Ok, so let me preface this blog by mentioning a few things that you all may not know about me..... I was born in 1974, I have one brother who is a year and a half older than me, and I was a great big tomboy growing up.  And by tomboy I don't just mean that I liked to play in the dirt and hunt for frogs.  When my grandmother insisted on buying me a doll at Christmas one year, I literally dropped it on the floor after opening it and ran across the room to see the truck or whatever other 'boy' toy my brother had just opened.  Of the few Barbies that I did have, we would get them into "car accidents" and then perform "surgery" on them (my mom said I wanted to be a surgeon when I was 5).  My favorite toys were Hot Wheels, Tonka trucks, and Lego's.  Lots and lots and lots of Lego's.  My brother and I used to save up our allowance and pool it together to buy new Lego sets.  We had so many that my dad built us a huge table in the basement that we could have our Lego city set up on at all times.  As far as movies went, some of my faves as a child (and still are) Raiders of the Lost Ark and of course the original Star Wars trilogy, which I have seen more times than I can count.

Which leads to the cookies.... When Williams-Sonoma came out with their Star Wars Heroes & Villains cookie cutters, my mom spotted them before I did and got them for me for my birthday.  I made some right away but never got around to frosting them in detail.  This week I had an order for them though, so I got to go all out.  I of course had to have fun with their photo shoot, and after about 30 minutes of searching through our massive Lego collection, was able to find most of the Lego Star Wars guys and their accessories to be my models.  True Star Wars and Lego fans will notice that Darth Maul is not wearing the hood he came with, but instead 'girl' hair and Luke's light saber is not the right color.  Our Lego collection includes all of the Lego's my brother and I collected as kids, as well as additional sets my 15 year old son had when he was little, and now the ones that our 5 and 3 year old little ones are adding.  So, needless to say, if I had a free six hours in my day, I would have searched through the pile and found all the pieces to make the Lego Millennium Falcon to also have in the pictures.  But fine, call me lazy ;)

Enjoy.. you know I did!

Luke, Obi-Wan, and everyone's favorite droid, R2-D2

"I see your Schwarz is as big as mine..." Name that movie quote!

And now that I've seen the Star Wars ships cutters, you know I'll be getting these next!

"SUPER" Cookies and SUPER Customers!

One of my newest customers found me when she was searching for superhero cookies online.  She came across my blog post about my son's birthday party and saw the cookies that I did for that.  She was planning her son's birthday party, which also had a superhero theme and was looking for some really cool superhero cookies.  She sent me a pic of what she had in mind, along with this {AWESOME} picture of her son from the party invitation.

Hey!  There's a kid flying across my blog!  I mean SERIOUSLY????  How cute is he!?!?!?

Here's the final product for the "SUPERBRADY" cookies

Have an awesome party tomorrow Brady, and thanks for the fun order Hilary!!!!
